Robert Stanley

Robert N. (Bob) Stanley, 79, died September 18 peacefully at his home. Bob was born in Grand Island, Nebraska and moved to Des Moines as a youngster.
Bob was a retired heating and cooling installer and he joined the Marines Corps serving during the Korean War and World War II.
Bob loved to ride his Harley with his friends whom he considered his brothers. Bob also enjoyed drag racing motorcycles. He lived his life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie, and her children, his son, Dave and his grandson, Josh and his children. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Ivanovich and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Beulah and his son Robert S.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
