Brian Glen Hodges, 52, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness Thursday, January 1, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Brian was born January 12, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Verva (Mayer) Hodges. He was a painter by trade and a proud member of the Local Union 246. He will be remembered as a hard worker, an avid football fan, and for his devotion to his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Travis (Jenni), Matthew, and Brandon Hodges; grandchildren, Tate Brian and Brooklynn Kristeana; mother, Verva; brother, Joseph Hodges; sister, Carla Long; and his significant other, Brenda. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Madrid, Iowa.
