Colleen E. Gabriel

Colleen Gabriel, 87, passed away December 31, 2014. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines on Friday, January 23, 2015. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m.

Colleen was born December 24, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa to Florence and John Price. She was employed by Green Construction Company for more than 20 years. Her job took her to Dallas, TX, where she lived for two years before returning to Des Moines. She worked for Younker’s and retired in 2009. Colleen loved her family, her friends, her job, and had a passion for reading.

She is survived by her children, Ralph (Stella) Gabriel, Tanna (Steve) Allen, and Kim (Terri) Gabriel; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Johnny; brothers, Jack and Harry Price; and sister, Velma Wycoff.
