Alice G. Bain

Alice Grace Bain, 89, passed away Saturday December 27, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Alice was born February 5, 1925 in Tarkio, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Edna Egan Walker. She enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, and spending time with her family and friends.

Alice is survived by her brother, Marvin Walker (Centerville, IA); daughter, Cheryl Bain (Blythedale, MO); son, Butch Bain (Des Moines, IA); son, Wayne Bain (Altoona, IA); and son, Rob Bain (Albia, IA); grandchildren, Bill Collins, Clint Bain, Amy Schoolen, Daniel Bain, Shane Bain, Scott Bain, Jennifer Boise, and Luke Bain; great-grandchildren, Mary Beth Collins, Kayden Bain, Kynsen Bain, Sophia Schoolen, Cash Schoolen, Logan Bain, Jesse Bain, Thomas Bain, Boone Bain, Remi Bain, Abigail Bain, and Nathan Boise.

Alice has selflessly donated her body to the University of Iowa for anatomical and surgical study. There will be a visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
