Lucas Alexander Weis

Service Details

Our beautiful boy, Lucas Alexander Weis entered the world on April 13, 1993. Mere words cannot describe this amazing young man. He had a heart of gold, was kind, loving, sensitive and forgiving. He never seemed to stay mad for long. He made everyone smile with his jokes and clever sense of humor. He was always seen smiling and grinning, loved to laugh and have a good time. He loved to have fun whether dirt biking, zip lining or going on vacation with family and friends. One could count on a good adventure when Lucas was around!

Lucas had an easy going personality. He was polite, non-judgemental, tolerant and selfless. He reached out to others and was above all one of the kindest people you could ever know. Anyone who had the pleasure to know Lucas was made better for it because his presence in life brought immense joy to others. (There are so many more things to say!!!)

Lucas attended Valley High School in West Des Moines, and was a student at the University of Iowa. He would have graduated in May 2015 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish.

Lucas left us unexpectedly on December 24, 2014. Our hearts are broken and we will forever feel emptiness without him here. He is loved and forever remembered by his parents, Dennis and Kimberly Weis; brothers, Chris (Kelly), Miles (Cara), and Zach (Dani) Weis; nieces, Arabelle and Taylor; nephews, Carter and Liam; and his sweet and beautiful love, Kaitlin Elizabeth Cook, whom he loved with his whole heart. He is also survived by his grandmother, Joanne Borchardt; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lucas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Grace Weis, and his grandpa, George Borchardt.

Mom and Dad
