Ray A. Calhoun Sr., 67, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014.
Ray was born May 6, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Alfred and Dorothy Calhoun. He attended school in New Hampton, Iowa where he excelled at basketball and football. Ray retired from the shipping and receiving industry and enjoyed gambling, spending time at Prairie Meadows, and taking walks in the neighborhood.
Ray is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Tammy Calhoun, Anita (Michael) Miklus and Eric (Julieta Gatica) Calhoun; grandchildren, Brittany, Ethan, Allajah, Mikey, William, Savannah, Eric, Gregory, and one on the way; sister, Kathy; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ray Calhoun Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Ray was a high school classmate of mine. In searching for his address to invite him to the New Hampton 50th class reunion, I was very sorry to find that Ray died at Christmas.
I extend my sympathy to your family. I will share the sad news with other classmates at the class reunion in September.
