Mary Catherine (Welker) Steinbach, 79, passed away Christmas morning 2014 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Lancaster, Ohio where she met her husband of 60 years and moved to Des Moines, Iowa. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Mary was a kind and thoughtful person whose family meant everything to her.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; brother, Jerome (Nancy) Welker; sister, Joyce Voellinger; children, Pam (Kent) Albaugh, Greg, Paula (Earl) Agan, Lisa (Gary) Blount and Scott; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Mary; sister, Barbara Jean Welker; and her brother-in-law, Howard Voellinger.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
