Dennis F DeForest

Dennis F. De Forest, 70, passed from this life on December 9, 2014, at Taylor Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Dennis was born on February 14, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he went to work for Neumann Bros. Dennis retired after 45 years of service. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Bellizzi-MacRae Legion Post #659. Dennis enjoyed model railroading.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ellen; children, Ryan and Amie; siblings, Donna (John) Mossberg, Lee (Ruby) De Forest, and Jackie (Glen) Sayre; five grandchildren, Amber Jennings, Autumn (Chris) Belger, Severian De Forest, Zosha De Forest, and Dakota De Forest; six great-grandchildren, Rylie, Hailey, Tobias, Raziel, Leo, and Bowie; and many foster children, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Opal, daughter Lisa, and son Kris.
