Jan D. Geringer, 66, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014. She was born February 1, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to Philamena and Gordon Geringer.
Jan is survived by the love of her life, Bob Michaels; her only son, Eric; mother, Phil; sister, Sandra; and her brothers, Mike and Kerry. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon.
Family will begin greeting friends at 10:00, with funeral to start at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Altoona Cemetery.

Little brother...A sweeter spirited person I have never known. We all lose in Jan's passing but we'll see her again. Heaven has a shining new spirit walking on streets of gold, blessing all with her beautiful smile. God is and has always been your strength. Be of good courage. The work He has for you is not yet done.

Our dear friend Bob, our prayers are with you and family for your sudden loss of a wonderful lady (Jan) although I just met her this year with the many walks that you and her took right by our house daily and stopping by for visits...she warmed my heart with her beautiful smile and as we held hands and prayed. We will miss her so much..
Stay strong Bob and know that you are always welcome at our home, she brought friendship to you and us.. GOD BLESS

Phil, Sandy and family-
I grew up on Grandview Ave a few hundred feet from Kerry's. I will always remember Jan's smile and the great Geringer team (plus Rita) that ran the restaurant. God bless.
