Service Details
Minette Jones, 94, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice. Minette was born November 26, 1920 in Chicago, IL to Herman and Erna (Schmidtke) Bass. She was devoted to her family and enriched each community in which she lived with her volunteer work. She had a strong Episcopal faith and served her church tirelessly. Minette was a very talented seamstress and cook.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jones (David Dorman) and Mary Jones (Steve Rose); grandchildren, Zachary Dorman Jones and Caroline Jones Mock; and her beloved cat, Spot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Buckner Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 3120 E 24th St, Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Taylor House Hospice in appreciation of their care and compassion for Minette.

Minette was such a fantastic lady, I am so grateful I had the honor of meeting her during her time in Des Moines. She was just simply a joy to be around. I will miss her very much.
