Josh McBride, 29, was born January 30, 1985, the son of Edward and Joyce McBride. He passed away unexpectedly at home on November 29, 2014.
Josh was very well known in the town of Mitchellville as the JOKESTER and he lived there his whole life. He was the most optimistic person on Earth. The glass wasn’t half full it was overflowing!
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Edward and Joyce McBride; brother, Joey (Aryanne) McBride; grandmothers, Della Owens and Gloria Christianson. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of beloved friends in the town of Mitchellville. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, “Big Ed” McBride and Ray Christianson; step grandfather, Ed Owens; and aunt, Christy McBride.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Heritage Word of Life Assembly of God, 132 Center Ave N, Mitchellville, Iowa 50169. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Ave South, Mitchellville, Iowa. Please come in casual attire for the services. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the family to help with funeral expenses.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Josh McBride.

My condolences to the family. I live on The corner and would see Josh walking almost everyday. When I would be out doing yard work or mowing he would stop and we'd exchange jokes. Great personality and funny! Keep em laughing Upstairs Josh.

We were so sad to hear of Josh's passing. He was a good young man who caused smiles to appear all along his road in life. He was an inspiration to those who knew all he was struggling with. He never let it stop him from helping others. Della, Ed, Joyce and Joey, you are in our prayers.

I am still saddened by hearing of Josh's passing . He was loved by all, and was an inspiration by his gentle spirit and positive attitude. I'm praying for you as I know this will be hard for a long time. I find comfort in knowing he has been made perfect in heaven and imagine him rockin & rollin to the most awesome music there and knowing he's never felt better

I fondly remember Josh being the jokester in our classes at Mitchellville Elementary. He was an optimistic and fun person to have in class. I hadn't kept in touch with him since we moved away from Mitchellville when I was 11. I will never forget the sweet and friendly person he was though. My prayers are with the family. No words can console you as parents or family over the loss of Josh. He was a loving, kind and humorous man that touched many lives, most of all the Love for Amanda.
They shared a true Love.
He will always be in our heart and memories.

I only met Josh area times but he was a polite and patient young man. He has left a hole that will never be filled with those who had the pleasure of meeting him. He will be missed by those who are left behind but will be greeted by those who have left before him. May the Lord bless your family in your hour of need.

i have known josh since 2003 . he was kind funny always joking and never in a bad mood. i remember when we went to prom they played the song foot loose and he went crazy dancing all around it was so funny to watch. he made everything ok. josh i want to thank you for everything you have ever done for me and with me. i loved being around you. thank you

So sorry to hear about Josh passing away. He was a part of the city of Mitchellville that was very good. His mood was always up. His humor was great. He helped anyone he could. He will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to all.
