Phillip Deming

Phillip Deming, 59, was born October 18, 1955, to William F. and Nadean H. (Richardson) Deming in Ames, Iowa. He passed away at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on November 29, 2014.

Phil grew up in Huxley, Iowa and graduated from Ballard High School. He owned Phil’s Cabinets & More for many years, and most recently worked as head custodian at Parkview Middle School in Ankeny. Phil loved NASCAR, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Chicago Bears. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.

Phil is survived by his wife, Lisa of Ankeny; daughter, Trudy Deming of Guthrie, OK; stepdaughter, Amy Schroeder of Ankeny; brother, Rod (Mary) Deming of St. Mary’s; sister, Lois; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in loving memory of Phil.
