Lluvia H. Munoz

Lluvia Helena Muñoz, 36, of Pleasant Hill, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

A public visitation is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 3, from 5 – 7 pm at Hamilton’s Funeral Home at 605 Lyon St. A Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 11 am on Thursday, December 4 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Fabian Moncada officiating. Cremation will take place immediately after the mass, and has been entrusted to the care of Hamilton’s Crematory.

Lluvia was born on July 25, 1978 to Raquel Chavez in Chicago, IL. Her childhood was shaped by growing up with family in both Mexico and the United States. She completed her education here in the United States where she later established and built her family with her husband Arturo Muñoz. Their new family was blessed with two children, Nizme Sophia and Arturo Rey. Before becoming ill, Lluvia worked as an interpreter for Iowa Health Systems where she assisted other families with her fluency in Spanish. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and colleagues.

Lluvia is survived by her husband, Arturo; her two children, Nizme Sophia and Arturo Rey; her mother Raquel Chavez of Durango, Mexico; maternal grandfather, Raymundo Chavez of Mexico; and a sister Amanda Aurelia Mejorado of Durango, Mexico.

Serving as pallbearers will be Miguel Muñoz, Victor Muñoz, Emmanuel Montenegro, Ignacio Montenegro, Antonio Paz & Javier Soto.
