Debra LaFon Tabor, formerly of Des Moines, passed away, November 10, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family at her home in Kansas City, MO. Debra was born on August 28, 1960 in Des Moines to James and Barbara (Entsminger) LaFon, Sr.
She will forever be remembered for her large rock collection, cooking from scratch and gardening. Debra was an avid caretaker not only for her family but others, as a CNA, EMT and a hospice worker. But nothing was more important to her than her family. The love she felt for them will never be forgotten.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Roger; children, Angela (Ron), Catherine (James), Cassandra (Tariq) and Roger (Jennifer), Jr.; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Sue (Daryl), Harold (Kathy) and Jimmy (Missy).
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gloria.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. She will be laid to rest at Avon Cemetery. Family will greet visitors from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.

It seems like just yesterday when I met Sue' s little sister Deb although it has been at least 47yrs. I know you will be missed by so many and my thoughts, love and prayers are with your family. Rest in peace Deb.

I remember going to school w/u as we became good friends! I remember we laughed all the time, talked about everything happening with zest and zeal! You were so kind and never uttered a bad word about anyone. Soon, I will be able to teeter-totter with you again! And twirl on the old playground bar! :-) It sounds like you led a full life and I am so sorry for your children and husband. I send prayers and strength to them.

Words can't begin to describe the hurt and sorrow I feel for my family...Debra LaFon Tabor you are more to me then my cousin, you are my family, friend, Loved one...We grew up close drifted apart because of lives paths, then reconnected and stayed connected although seems way too short...i am Grateful for it, and So Blessed He made it possible for us to see each other one more time until we see each other as you told me that Beautiful day...See you Someday...
