Ronald "Ron" Green

Ronald “Ron” Green, 79, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the CLC Building at the VA Hospital.

Ron was born December 11, 1934 in Des Moines to Lucy and Leo Green. He joined the Navy after graduating from East High School. He worked for many years as a glazer for PPG Industries and Clark Glass and also part-time as a police officer for Pleasant Hill, Mitchellville and Bondurant. He retired from Fleck Trucking as a driver.

Ron is survived by his wife Janice (Holman) Green, son Steven Green, daughter Christie (Mike) Sposeto, grandson Randy Green of Virginia, and brother Donald (Judy) Green. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd, Des Moines, IA 50317. Family will begin greeting friends at 9:30 am with funeral service to start at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
