Marian “Bobbie” Christo, 69, passed away November 8, 2014. She was born March 1, 1945, to Marion and Martha Parr in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bobbie worked as a Customer Service Representative at Source Corp before retiring. She was a professional singer and entertainer. Over the years, she worked with many bands including the one she started with her husband called The Reinvented Band. She also performed at Fan Fair in Nashville, TN. Bobbie was a recording artist, lead vocalist, sang harmony, and played the bass guitar. She loved spending time with her family and friends as well as shopping and going out for lunch.

Bobbie is survived by her husband, Byron “B.J.” of Johnston; daughter, Debbie (John) Haus of Des Moines; brother, Jack (Karen Welch) Parr of Eau Claire, WI; uncle, Jim (Bea) Bowman of Altoona; aunts, Jane Thomas of Des Moines and Mary Blile of Ankeny; the Hoa Van Luu family; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike.

The family would like to thank Union Park Care Center for the excellent care and compassion they gave Bobbie during her stay.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
