Brian John Stirling

Brian John Stirling was born February 19, 1968 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Judy (Birmingham) and John Stirling. He passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Bright Kavanagh in Des Moines at the age of 46.

Brian loved his family and was a wonderful dad, husband, son and brother. He worked as an I.T. Specialist for Principal, Prairie Meadows and Farm Bureau over the years. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Brian was a Kansas City Chiefs Super-Fan since the age of 4. He was an amazing cook known for his “world famous” potato salad and loved his cat named Butterball.

Brian is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Tyler, Audrey and Garrett; father, John; sisters, Chris, Jenny (Randy) Reynolds and Andrea (Jerry) Brown; step-mother, Sharon; step-siblings, Jackie, Cindy, Collin, Kasey and Shaun; as well as numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie and mother, Judy.

A celebration of life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial of cremated remains will take place 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13 at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.

Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Hamilton’s for distribution at a later date.
