Ronald Carmen Morrow, of Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Friday, November 7, 2014. Ron was born on August 8, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa to Anthony and Felecia Morrow.

Ron attended Loyola High School in California. He joined the U.S. Air Force for six years and served his country proudly for 2 ½ years in the Vietnam War. Ron worked for 25+ years as a finish carpenter. He enjoyed helping others and volunteered at the V.A. Hospital, St. Anthony Catholic School and coached YMCA football and basketball.

Ron is survived by his two sons, Sam and Matt (Meghan) Morrow; five grandchildren, Collin, Kenzie, Siri, Dominic and Tessa; six siblings, Tom, Connie, John, Bonnie, Tony and Gino; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14 at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter.

**Due to the road construction on SW 9th Street, the entrance to the funeral home is off of Fleur or SW 14th Street to Kenyon heading east.
