Trella Gardner Blackman was born December 4, 1921 to Delos and Margaret Moore Gardner. She was born on a farm near Algona, Iowa. She had four brothers and one sister. Trella married Robert G. Blackman on November 19, 1944. Together they had two sons, Roger Clark and Dennis Delos.
Trella is survived by her son, Dennis; grandchildren, Bradley (Kristin), Eric (Ann), Taylor (Devin), Sara (John), Amanda, and Ben; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Curtis; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Trella passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Bright Kavanagh in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Roger; daughter-in-law, Carol; three brothers; one sister; and her parents.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Norwalk United Methodist Church, 1801 Sunset Drive, Norwalk with burial at Norwalk Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa in Trella’s memory.

Sorry to hear of Trella's passing. We became friends when working at the Des Moines Register many years ago and have stayed in touch all these years. She will be missed. My Thoughts and Prayers to all.

Dennis and Family: Saddened to hear of Trella's passing. She was an old friend of my folks and I had a nice conversation with her last December when my Mother passed. My sympathies to all.
