Esther M. Knight, 93, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Fountain West Health Care Center.
Esther was born November 22, 1920 in Melcher, Iowa to Lawrence and Amelia Conrad. She was a homemaker and a clerk at Tursi’s for many years. Esther was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bob) Thomson; Deborah E. (Jeffrey) Rothlisberger; siblings, Kathy Stickle and Donna Ennis; grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) Thomson and Craig Thomson and Brian Rothlisberger and Kelly (Andrew) Potter; great-grandchildren, Cooper Thomson, Grayson Thomson and Rowan Potter; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; brothers, Arnold, Raymond and Duane Conrad; sisters, Geraldine Bailey and Gladys Nelson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street. A private family burial will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Nashua, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Fountain West or St. Jude Hospice.

We are sad to hear about Esther's passing. Dad and I have had many enjoyable visits with Esther and worried about her after Mom left Fountain West. She made Mom's stay there much more enjoyable. We are all thinking of you at this time.

My deepest sympathy to all who mourn Esther's passing. Both she and Kenneth were part of my growing up years at Nashua High along with my best friends Marjorie and Margaret Knight. It would be nice to hear from any of their children who might read this message as I had delivered old pictures to Harry Stough years ago in hopes he would pass them along. God's blessings to all of Esther's family(s) and friends.

What a loss. My condolences. She had a strong spirit, I so enjoyed being around her. I can only marvel at all the 4ths of July she stood in the farm kitchen and cooked fried chicken, dressed like she was going out for the evening and cracking wise with all of us. At family gatherings she and my dad were always side by side, I think their bond was very deep. May God grant her peace.
