Patricia "Pat" McNeely

Patricia “Pat” McNeeley, 80, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Altoona Nursing and Rehab.

Patricia Louise (Phillips) McNeeley was born January 17, 1934 in Creston, Iowa to Ernest Donald and Arlena (Black) Phillips. She ran an in-home day care for many years showering love on the children and babies in her care.

Pat enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and liked baking cakes. She loved going to the Iowa State Fair. She attended faithfully and volunteered her time when she was able. Pat was an avid hockey fan. She was a lifelong member of Berean Assembly of God Church.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Linda (Jack, Sr.) Northway and Rickie (Tom) Wickersham; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings, William (Nancy) Phillips, Sr. and Sharon (Rev. David) McNeeley; and a host of other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Samuel Robert McNeeley.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14 at Berean Assembly of God Church, 5299 E University Ave, Pleasant Hill, IA, 50327 with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
