Service Details

Carson E. Aldridge, 73, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 9, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14 at Heritage Assembly of God, 5051 NE 5th Street, Des Moines with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Carson was born September 6, 1941 in Greentop, Missouri. He worked at Cumming Orchard under various owners for 35 years. Carson enjoyed the outdoors and spent time gardening, fishing, and coon hunting. He liked matchcraft and tending his apple orchard.

Carson is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Carson Jr. (Judy), Kevin, William (Rhonda), Sheri (Weston) Scharlau, and Melissa (James) Hodge; step-children, Cathy (Russ), Todd (Judy), Doris (Ron), Phil (Angela), and Barbara; many foster children; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy; brother, Elvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sharon K. Aldridge; and five brothers.
