Connie Neel

Connie A. Neel, 66, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014. She was born July 30, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. Connie was a homemaker and a very social person. She was always taking care of those around her. Connie was an amazing cook and was very protective of her recipes and even baked everything from scratch.

She is survived by her son, John and Cheryl Decker; daughter, Beth Houghton; grandchildren, Amber, Toby, and Ashley Houghton; step-grandchildren, Larry and Ben Tull; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; uncle, Bill and Bev Dickerson; dear family friend who was like a daughter to her, Kim and Mike Mikesell and their five children; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Adrianna Masters; husband, Charles Neel; and sister, Kathy Lloyd.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Funeral will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, also at the funeral home, with burial at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola.
