Ruth Marie Roush

Ruth Roush, 94, was born August 29, 1920, to Arthur and Blanche Moore in Exline, Iowa. She passed away at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny on October 8, 2014.

Ruth was a caregiver at heart. She devoted herself to her family and home and took great pride in caring for and supporting her family any chance she had. Ruth enjoyed cooking and tending to her vegetable garden in her spare time.

Ruth is survived by her children, Rose (Tommy) Dunn, Bill Light, and Jim Roush, numerous grandchildren, Kathy (Tom) Sotter, Brian Philips, Cathy Winningham, Sandra (Clay) Wells, Cindy (Rick) Beemer, Tammy Dunn, and Shawn (Tina) Roush; great-grandchildren, Erica (Richie) Bennett, Alex Philips, Josh (Sara) Winningham, Sarah (Rusty) Wortham, Katie Wells, Cory Beemer, Marianne Beemer, Jared Roush, Cara Roush, Mat Hodson, Chris Philips, and Jodie; as well as her great great-grandson, Turner Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Roush; children, Robert Light, Mary Philips, and Roger Roush; grandson, Kevin Philips; and her sister, Lucille Beer.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with a graveside service to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Jordan Cemetery.
