Eunice Marie Newman, 88, was born March 12, 1926 to Roy and Estella Tate in Des Moines. She passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
Eunice married Burton Newman on September 25, 1946 and resided near Mitchellville until he preceded her in death. They enjoyed dancing, camping, and vacationing with their children.
Eunice was defined by her career and retired from Principal Financial Group after 45 years of service at the age of 80.
Eunice is survived by her children, Kathleen (Ken) Heaberlin of Sperry, OK, Colleen (Mike) Wagner of Ventura, and Mark (Reneé) Newman of Clive; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two nephews; two nieces; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton; brother, Lloyd Tate; and sister, Wilma Tate
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Santiago United Methodist Church, 8050 NE 109th Street, Mitchellville, with interment at Mitchellville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Ave. South, Mitchellville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in loving memory of Eunice.

I worked with Eunice at Principal Financial Group. She was a sweet Lady who was very intelligent and
would steer you in the correct area to find the information you needed. She would tell you the answer if she knew it. Always gracious and willing to help ohers. God Bless her family and I pray God will ease your pain and help you to get through this difficult time.
