Brian Eugene Gustafson, 49, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014. He was born July 22, 1965 to Eugene and Patsy Gustafson in Des Moines, Iowa.
Brian loved to keep busy whether it be helping his family or others in need. He was a talented man with a giving and caring heart. Every month he would donate his blood since he had a special type. Brian enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his dogs.
He is survived by his two sons, Tyler and friend, (Holly) and Ryan (Kristen) Jarnagin; stepson, Jason (Wendi) Wright; twin girls, Breanna (Oscar) and Leanna Gustafson; mother, Patsy; two brothers, Alan (Darcy) and David Gustafson; grandchildren, Jayce, Josie, Rhya, Wesley, Ian, Ava, Abigail with more on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts, Nancy Klein and Carol Fallis; uncle, Dale Wright;
life-long companion, Pam Wright; and many extended family members.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Gustafson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Services will be held, 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10th cremation to follow services.

Losing my brother at such a young age has been hard. I will remember Brian the last time I saw him. He was happy and healthy. Going to be hard to move forward without Brian being around. Brian will be missed. Nice to see his friends and extended family have been so supportive of Brian over the years.

Thank you Brian for all you did for my son, Jayce, and his dad. You were such a big part of the Wright's lives. You were one of the most giving men I knew. I will never forget the cross you built for our cat, Jaylee Lynne, just out the kindness of your heart. You truly were one of a kind. I know that my son will have an extra angel up there watching over him. How lucky is he. You will be missed Brian.

Papa you are one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You did more for me and my family than I could repay in 10 life times. The world will never be the same. I will wait everyday for the rest of my life to hear your keys come up my drive way just one more time. There is not a man on earth that will ever fill those shoes.
