Lena Baratta

Lena M. Baratta, 92, of Des Moines went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center from heart failure.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She and her husband Louie had owned and operated Baratta's Grocery Store for over 30 years.
She is survived by her brothers Frank (June) Ferrari of Des Moines and Jim (Lucille) Ferrari of Des Moines, her sister Antoinetta (Gene) Owens of Groveland, California as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Louie, her parents Antonio and Cloenice Ferrari, her brothers Joseph, Demitri, Charles, Antonio and Erti Ferrari and her sisters Mary Stamatelos, Argentina Shepard, Angelina Briniger and Louise Fenoglio.
