Joyce E. Thompson

Joyce E. Thompson, 79, was born September 18, 1935, in Ottumwa, Iowa the daughter of William and Helen Selix. She passed away at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny on Sunday, September 21, 2014.

Joyce was a woman of great faith. She graduated from Open Bible College and served alongside her husband, Raymond as he pastored in various Open Bible churches including several Iowa cities and Aurora, Illinois. In her later years, Joyce worked as a book keeper for an Assembly of God Church in Ft. Collins, CO.

Joyce is survived by her children, Kendra (Mark) Bassett, Craig (Tracy) Thompson, and Rae (Josh) Clune; six grandchildren, Raina Bassett, Cheyenne, Sheridan and Jackson Thompson, and Madeleine and Isabelle Clune; brother-in-law, Norm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; grandson, Arno Bassett; and sister, Jan Ingle.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be designated at a later date, in loving memory of Joyce.
