Carole Janes

Carole Frances Janes, 79, passed from this life Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Rising Sun Church of Christ, 6390 NE Rising Sun Drive, Pleasant Hill, IA, 50327 with burial at Warren-Powers Cemetery, Adelphi, IA. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, also at Rising Sun Church of Christ.

Carole was born December 6, 1934 in Carlisle, IA to Wayne and Mary (Johnson) Thomas. She retired after 35 years of service with the Federal Government in 2005. She was the organist for the Carlisle Christian Church for many years and most recently a member of Rising Sun Church of Christ.

Carole is survived by her sons, Ric (Teri) and Jeff (Lorine); sister, Arlene (Mike) Rawson; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild on the way; as well as nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Her parents precede her in death.
