D. Irene Richardson

Irene D. Richardson, left us in the early morning hours of September 4, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Irene will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens, One Northeast 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Irene D. Richardson was born June 20, 1926. She was a native and worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone and then AT&T for 27 years in total. She had many friends and was a teacher to many people in her profession. Irene retired from AT&T in 1988. During her retirement she spent a lot of time traveling to see family and friends, often staying with people in time of need. She had a big heart and a genuine sole and loved to help when she was able.
Irene is survived by five children, Fred Richardson of Pendleton, OR., Bonita Severson of Kansas City, MO., Perry Richardson of Des Moines, Cris Richardson of Des Moines and Connie Manges of Salt Lake City, UT and two brothers, Thomas Helms of Hollister, MO. and Richard Helms of Fresno, CA. Irene also loved her fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
