After returning to Iowa he farmed in Guthrie County for 7 years before moving his family to Des Moines. He worked at Meredith Corporation for 35 years as building maintenance and later as a Stationary Engineer. He retired in 1992 and the couple were Texas Snowbirds for 20 years spending November to April in McAllen, Texas.

So sorry to hear of one of my last Curl cousins departing but, like Roxanne said, he will be welcomed with open arms by his Uncle Dale and Aunt Irene (my parents). We know he has gone to a much better place. Love to all of his immediate family. - Mary

To our dear and precious Curl family, this is such a difficult time for all of you and my heart is saddened by this news. Having just re-united with a visit from Bob and Alice here in California, it reminds me of happy days spent at your house playing in Des Moines. My dad (Dale) and Mom (Irene) were in Heaven to welcome your dad. What a joyous reunion that must have been. I am praying that the Memorial on Thursday will not only bring tears but some smiles of remembered times of fellowship and love. Please give Nadine a hug from me.
