Marjorie Johnson
August 15, 2014
Marjorie Jean Johnson was born December 14, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. Her wonderful personality, kind nature and eager willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need left a lasting impact within her family, among her friends and throughout the community. She had a great passion for her children and grandchildren, and was a mother figure to many others GOD had placed in her life.
She was a lifelong member of New Jerusalem Church of GOD in Christ, where she faithfully served with a servant’s heart. The highlight and crowning glory to her life was her family who always came first. Her four children; Teon Tenice, of Tampa Bay, Fl., Tierra Nicole, Matthew Marcell, and Eva Danyell all of Des Moines; four brothers; Matthew M. Spivie (Anita) of Perry, Phillip H. Spivie, Mark C. Davis (Beverly) both of Des Moines and William S. Smith (Shirley) of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters; Dolly J. Ikpe (Nelson) of Miami, Fl. and Monica C. Woods (Stevie) of Des Moines; five Grandchildren; Ciciley, Amari, Akira, Miya, and Jaishon along with numerous nieces & nephews and her loving husband Jeff L. Johnson.
Surrounded by loved ones, Marjorie (Jeanie) received her ultimate reward for the impact she left on earth when she entered into the eternal presence of her Creator, Lord and Savior on August 15, 2014. She was proceeded into eternity by her mother, Rebecca Mae Moore and sister Patricia Anita Williams.
Marjorie’s (Jeanie) life can be likened unto that of a mature garden, where she was the nurturing soil and each life she touched was a beautiful flower blossom that continues to bloom.
Home going services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Amazing Grace Ministry, 1903 53rd Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 10:00 a.m. at the church with burial at Glendale Cemetery following the funeral.

To The Entire Bereaved Family of Marjorie (Jeanie) Johnson:
The Emmanuel Church of God in Christ Family extends deep and heartfelt sympathy to you all in the home going of our beloved saintly Sister Jeanie Johnson. She was a beloved dear wife, mother, sister, grandmother, beloved relative, friend, and child of the King. Jeanie will truly be missed. Sister Jeanie Johnson has been a great asset to her family and church family. She had a loving and praying spirit. Jeanie was a woman after God's on heart with a special love for the youth in the Sunshine Band and Purity Class. She was devoted to the kingdom building for the work of the Lord. Remember the good times you all have spent together that you can treasurer in your hearts forever of her.
"COMFORT ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Isaiah 40:1" Look to God and know that He is able to bring the peace and comfort that you need at this time and always.
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." St. John 14:1-2
To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. Thank God for eternal life in Christ Jesus. Our prayers are with all of you for strength and increased faith, now and in the days to come.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Emmanuel Church of God in Christ Family,
Pastor John K. Hall Sr.
