Dolores J. Smith, 80, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny.
Dolores was born December 22, 1933 in Des Moines to Harry and Francis Green. She worked in retail. She worked at various retail shops in the Des Moines area. Dolores was a member of Southside Nazarene Church.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Linda (Dan) Pothast; daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith; sisters, Leah Ferrari, Reah Briles and Jackie Jackson; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond R. Smith; and her son, Raymond A. Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Dear Linda, Dan and Kathy,
We have mixed emotions at Dee's passing. We will miss her so much, but she is now with Jesus. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Her battle is over! We are confident that we will be reunited in heaven. We are praying that you will have peace and comfort now and in the days ahead.
