Kay Ogle

Kay Frances Ogle, 73, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She was born April 21, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Huston and Mary (Slater) Cook.

Kay is survived by her children, Cris (Gary) Adams, Kevin (Michelle) Ogle, and Liz Ogle; siblings, Jim Cook, Ruth Yoder, and Tom Cook; fourteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Ogle; son, Tom Ogle; and siblings, Peggy McCoy, Ray Cook, and Ernie Cook.

Kay was a loving mom and grandma. She gave unconditional support and love to her family and was encouraging and nonjudgmental. She loved spending time with her family; her grandkids were her life. She had a giving nature and enjoyed her job as the school lunch aide, taking care of the kids. Kay enjoyed traveling, road trips, playing poker, going to the casinos, and gardening. She loved her friends and neighbors like they were part of her family and was very quick to make new friends. She leaves her family with a legacy of love and generosity.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12 with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
