Service Details

Lee Herbert Culbertson, 90, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 in Norwalk, Iowa. Funeral services will held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5th at Trinity United Methodist Church in Edgewood, Iowa with burial in the Edgewood Cemetery. Visiation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church.
Lee was born April 21, 1917 in Edgewood, the son of Roy D. and Emma Marie (Berens) Culbertson. He attended Wood School and graduated from Edgewood High School. On January 1, 1942, Lee was united in marriage to Vivian Fern Palmer in Kirksville, Missouri. He was born on the family farm where he lived most of his life. He and his wife recently moved to the Des Moines area to be closer to their son and family.
Lee is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Edgewood and the K.P. Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Lee found great joy in his three grandchildren and enjoyed so much the time they spent together. He also looked forward to visits from his neighbors and their children. A special thank you to Duane Peck, Lee’s barber, for the many hours he spent visiting with Lee during Lee’s illness.
Lee’s family includes his wife, Vivian Culbertson of Edgewood; one son, Bob (Julia) Culbertson of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Garth and Garland; and his daughter, Linda Lou.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
