Kenneth P. Stuart

Kenneth Stuart, 57, was born January 3, 1957, to Gerald and Barbara (Shepard) Stuart in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, on July 12, 2014.

Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. Kenneth was a family man, but his pride and joy was his only grandson, Emmitt. Kenneth graduated from South East Polk high school in 1976. He served his country from 1976-1982 in the U.S. Navy. Kenneth then continued his career working in the boiler room at numerous hospitals including Methodist, Mercy and the V.A. He was also employed at Wright Publishing and Printing as a Mechanic.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Kendra (Joe) Payer, Kenny Stuart Jr.; grandson, Emmitt Payer; siblings, Melva Albaugh, Roger (Bonnie) Stuart, Cindy Stuart, Patti (Burt) Smith; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald Stuart Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening, July 16 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home.
