Donald G. "Donnie" Anderson

Donald Gean “Donnie” Anderson Jr., 57, of Des Moines, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Donnie is survived by his common law wife, Sandra Leach; his children, Jeanie Arellano (Benito), Melissa Anderson (Eric), Judy Kannenberg (Mike), Wendell Leach Jr. (Krissy), Jason Anderson (Jaymie), Scott Leach (Shannon), Joe Caraway (Jennifer), Jesse Leach (Shonna), and Hank Anderson (Allison); and numerous grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Charlotte Harrison and Tina Fleming; brothers, John Wayne Anderson, Jerry O’Connor, and Mike O’Connor; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Gean Anderson Sr. and Wanda Lee (Jones) Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, also at the funeral home, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
