Service Details
Vivian Wessel, 88, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014. She was born October 10, 1925 to Charles and Neta Lee in Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street with funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Vivian lived in Des Moines her whole life and worked for Emco as a welder in the 60’s. She loved fishing, listening and dancing to country music, and enjoyed owning her own ceramic shop.
She is survived by son, Chuck (Lee) Wessel; daughter, Renee (Jerry) Virden; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbra Lee. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wessel; daughters, Shirley and Madeline; sons, Ronald and Dennis; grandson, Thomas; her parents; and brother, Rolland.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Vivian.

Been down this road before and I feel your pain and sorrow Renee, She was a nice lady,, funny and loved Jerry's singing, Jesus gave her a time to pray and one great thing she did pray to Jesus and He so merciful. No other friend like your mother, (except Jesus) He will give you peace,,, Love you Renee.
