Barbara Flannery

Barbara Flannery, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born April 27, 1939 in Des Moines to Jessie and Helen (Miller) Hoffman. Barbara enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and being a homemaker.

Barbara is survived by her children, Tammy (Ken) Watkins, Teresa (Denny) Howard, Todd Flannery and Tiffany (Doug Cox) Wike; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jenny) Watkins, Jeremiah (Maja Miletich) Watkins, Jenessa (Andrew McLane) Watkins, Chad (Taresa) Lombard, Lacey (Chris) Brewer, Diamond (Jacob) Wike, Kathryn (Steve) Weeks and Robert (Evelyn) Howard; twenty two great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Flannery; and granddaughter, Jessica Watkins.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ewing Trace Club House, 4201 Windsor Place, Des Moines.
