Lloyd Neal Eugene Lorenz

Lloyd Neal Eugene Lorenz, 40, died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at his home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, also at the funeral home. Cremation will occur following the funeral. Private family burial of cremated remains will occur at a later date at Ridgedale Cemetery in Johnston, Iowa.

Lloyd was born August 10, 1973 in Des Moines to Robert and Karen Lorenz. He attended North High School in Des Moines and was employed at McAfee Realty with his sister, a job he truly loved due to his wonderful boss and co-workers. His interests included his family, whom he loved and cared for deeply, Jeep 4X4 off-roading, mud racing, fireworks, and his Pomeranians. Lloyd was a huge fan of Notre Dame Football and working on cars with his nephews. He devoted much of his time and energy to family members, helping with everything they needed.

Lloyd is survived by his mother, Karen Lorenz; sisters, Teresa (John Knox) and Roberta (Tammy); nephews, John and Jeff Knox; niece, Mady Lorenz (Yency); grandmother, Alice; and uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lorenz and his grandparents, Conrad “Tiny” Weaver and John and Helen Maxine Lorenz.
