Janet Krumbholz

Janet Krumbholz, 87, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at Trinity Center at Luther Park.

Janet was born January 18, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Giles and Coletta Joyce. In 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Dale Krumbholz. The couple moved to Des Moines in 1956. Janet retired from the Des Moines Public School District after more than 20 years of service in the cafeteria at Brody Middle School. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Janet volunteered at Mercy Hospital for several years. She loved to visit and spend time with friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who prayed the Rosary daily for everyone but herself.

Janet is survived by her sons, David (Melanie) Krumbholz and Tom (Sheryl) Krumbholz; daughter-in-law, Rita Krumbholz; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eileen Spaight and Jackie Anderson; son, Mark; and her beloved husband of 62 years, Dale.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
