Jeannie S. Douglas-Roberts, 61, of West Des Moines passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Jeannie is survived by her husband, Dave Roberts of West Des Moines; mother, Patricia Snyder of Cedar Rapids; sons, Brian J. (Dan Royer) Douglas of Des Moines and Michael B. Douglas of Naperville, IL; step-daughters, Stacey Roberts of Phoenix, AZ, Melissa (James) Fetera of Rocky Hill, CT; Kimberly (Brian) Blitek of Naperville, IL, Allison Roberts of Lyme, CT, and BJ Roberts of New Haven, CT; nephew, Jared R. Snyder of Hood River, OR; step-granddaughter, Michelle Brachowski of Rock Hill, SC; step-grandsons, Brandon and Blake Blitek of Naperville, IL; and great-nephew, Silas Snyder of Hood River, OR.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert J. Synder; sister, Julie A. Snyder-Klinger; and brother, Steven R. Snyder, all of Cedar Rapids.

Jeannie was born on September 19, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Robert and Patricia (Pierson) Snyder. Jeannie graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA where she was a member of the Tri-Delta sorority and completed her MBA at the College of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, MN. She spent most of her career in Naperville/Chicago, IL as an executive vice president in corporate finance for the Royal Bank of Scotland. She was accomplished in her career receiving numerous awards and recognition for exemplary service. Most recently, she joined her husband Dave as the Vice President of J&D Restaurants in Des Moines.

At home, Jeannie was equally accomplished and never missed a moment to spend time with family and friends. She would spend summers by the Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, MO and Christmas on the beach in Fort Myers, FL. She loved going on vineyard tours overseas in the Mediterranean, and here at home in Napa Valley, CA. Jeannie was a fabulous cook and enjoyed playing cards and entertaining with family and friends.

Jeannie is a beloved friend to all and always put others first. Her generosity, smile and laughter will be missed by all.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday, July 3 at the same location, followed by a private burial at Jordan Cemetery.
