Jean Ann Lewis, 77, passed away at her daughter’s home on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She was born August 23, 1936 to Bernard and Eleanor in Iowa Falls.
She enjoyed gardening, genealogy work and was a Wine Connoisseur of Iowa Wineries. Jean was in the process of writing a book and had a published poem.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James; children, Alan (Deena) Lewis and Julie (Richard) Judkins; grandchildren, Alan Lewis, Jr., Leah (Adam) Sampson, Tyler (Sarah) Baker, Kendra (Nick) Covington, Shauna Wolver, Matthew Judkins and Savanna (Christian) Flores; great grandchildren, Lexus Baker, Owen Wolver and Angelina Flores; brother, Charles (Delores) Schultz.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Marie Baker; and sisters, Shirley King and Marion Sampson.
Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Stoddard Cancer Center in loving memory of Jean.

Jim, Mom and I wish to send our condolences to you and the rest of the family. We both enjoyed being around Jean and she had such a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by one and all.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jean was an amazingly strong woman. I will proudly run the Susan G Komen race in October in her honor. The last time I spoke to her was at AJ's going away party and she really inspired my newly acquired running skills. She was so motivating. She will be missed.

Felice and I knew Jean from the many family get-togethers we attended over the years and her presence on those occasions was always noticed and appreciated.
We both will long remember and reflect that, even sick, she attended our 50th wedding anniversary party in May 4th of this year.
She was one of the most gracious persons we have ever met and we wish you our condolences for your loss.

Jean is one of my favorite people. She was a friend and she had friends. She gave love and she received love. She fought a hard battle with the beast, cancer, but now she can rest. We'll miss you, Jean. Be at peace.
