Rosena Garlene Weber was born on November 8, 1922 in Greenfield, Iowa to William and Amelia (Bittner) Weber on a farm in Prussia Township, Adair County, Iowa. She passed away June 25, 2014 at the age of 91.

She was raised and attended country school in Prussia Township in Adair County. With her parents, she moved to Greenfield in 1939, and then in 1940 moved to Des Moines, with her sister, Lorna.

On January 18, 1947 Rose was united in marriage to George Louis Weber in Greenfield, Iowa. They were the parents of three children. They were married for 37 years when George died in 1984. She continued living in their home until her health caused her to move to Fleur Heights Care Center in 2009.

Rose was a member of the Southern Hills Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, after being baptized in 1967. It was the faith she had and her hope for the future that kept her strong.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother and four sisters; and an infant brother.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Diana (Jerry) Nemmers; her sons, Dennis (Susan) Weber and Bill Weber; seven grandsons; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends who will all miss her greatly.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet visitors starting at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
