Zachary Williams, 35, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 23, 2014.
Zak was born December 23, 1978 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended college in Eugene, OR. Zak was a very smart, well rounded person. He owned Habitats Energy Services in Bend, OR. His personality was magnetic and he had a huge group of friends. He loved the outdoors, his dogs, and music, especially the Grateful Dead. Zak had a huge heart, would go above and beyond to help people, and was a great friend to all. He was also a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
Zak is survived by his mother, Teri Sheldon Reynolds (Bill Wheeler); his sister, Nicole Williams (Martin Gomez); his two nieces, who meant the world to him, Terrayn Jackson and Giana Gomez; the love of his life, Renee Cawthorn; and their two dogs, Nama and Lily. He is preceded in death by his father, Danny Williams; all of his grandparents; and his first dog, Simon whom he loved.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 27 followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Teri, Nicole and Renee,
Our family was lifelong friends of Lorene & Curly Williams and their family. Ranae and Terry knew Danny from childhood until shortly after Zach's birth and when Nicole was young she played with Ranae's daughter, Mikki, at Lorene's home. While we only knew of Zach as a child, we did have the privilege of meeting him at Danny's funeral. We had a pleasurable talk with Zach and Renee and caught up on his life.
We are shocked and saddened to hear of Zach's unexpected passing. Please accept our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies in the loss of Zach. We know you're in shock and your hearts are breaking!
May GOD bless each of you, comfort you and give you peace beyond understanding. May your sadness fade and be replaced with happy memories. And through our LORD JESUS, may he give you grace and salvation and the promise of life everlasting, where we will join again with our loved ones forever

Zak was my friend, neighbor and fellow gardener. I learned a lot about vegetables and gardening from him. He was a man of many talents whom I admired. My heart goes out to Renee and his family. Peace be with you Zak.
