Helen Van Zandt

Helen Van Zandt, 71, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, June 22, 2014.

Helen was born January 7, 1943 in Webster City, Iowa to Frank Lester, Jr. and Marian (Curtis) Lester. Family meant everything to her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Sue, Lorrie (Jerry), Becky (Jeff), and Annie; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, France (Rose), Gerald (Diane), Carroll (Cindy), Larry (Glenda), Frank (Robin), Robert (Judy), Rich (Cheryl), and Vernon (Patti); sisters-in-law, Debbie, Linda, and Betty (Bob); brothers-in-law, Paul (Karen), Donnie (Sheryl), Fred (Betty), and Greg (Amy); other loving family and special friend, Kathy Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; son, Craig; and brother, Cliff.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28 with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
