James Michael Anderson

James Michael Anderson passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at the age of 33. He was born on July 3rd, 1980 to Robert and Patricia Anderson in Des Moines, Iowa.

He is survived by his children, Isabella, and Austyn; parents, Robert (Eileen) Anderson and Patricia Anderson; siblings, Brad (Linda), Michelle, Janice (James), Mark, Trudy, Steven (Teresa), and Carl (Kim). Jimmy was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby, and Joanne; his grandparents, and many other loved ones.

Jimmy went to school at Rising Sun, Four Mile Elementary, Centennial Elementary and Southeast Polk High School. He was very active in 4-H all through school. Jimmy had always had a love for animals and has had many pets throughout his life. He worked at a variety of places, but enjoyed working construction and being a fork lift operator the most. Jimmy loved to be outside grilling, fishing, and camping but spending time with his children was what brought him the greatest joy. He was a very loving and devoted father who tried to spend as much time with his children as he possibly could. He would take the kids camping during the summer, going to the fishing derby, Kids Fest, the Iowa State Fair and any other events that he could find to take them to. He was a wonderful friend to so many people and loved to help out in any way that he could. He will truly be missed by all of us.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2101 Evergreen Ave in Des Moines with burial to follow at Logan Cemetery in Melbourne, Iowa.
