Margaret Ann Smith

Margaret A. Smith of Des Moines, IA died on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.

Margaret was born December 10, 1940 in Davenport, IA to Charles and Margaret (Burall) Steltzer. She was united into marriage on November 1st, 1958 to Leroy Smith. She spent her life with Leroy and was the homemaker for their family. The love of her life Leroy passed on May 12, 2009. Margaret was a resident of Des Moines, IA since 1952.

She is survived by her Sons, Herbert (Michelle) Smith, Steven (Kimberly) Smith, Tony (Mandi) Smith, and Richard Smith; Daughter, Kristine Smith; 17 grandchildren, Helen, Bethany, Jon, Jacob, Colleen, Tiffany, Manny, Kayla, Precious, Destiny, Alexis, Andrea, Aaron, Randy, Joseph, Haley, and Joshua; 20 Great-Grandchildren, Autumn, Raven, Camryn, Icesis, Cy, True, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Dakota, Kaydence, Sonia, Kyla, Synthia, Kassidy, Tristan, Taytum, Ily, Havier, and Cisco; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, Vincent Leroy; Brothers, Jack Burall, Richard Steltzer, Paul Dewitt, and Herbert Steltzer.

Margaret was preceded in death by her Parents, Charles and Margaret (Burall) Steltzer; Husband, Leroy Smith; Brothers and Sisters, Helen Alberts, Betty Steltzer, Carol Snodgrass, Gerald Steltzer, Charles Frazier, and Martin Frazier.
