Scott William Buising, 49, passed away on June 9, 2014. Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Born on April 23, 1965 in West Des Moines to Bill and Marcia Buising, Scott attended Valley High School and Simpson College, later graduating from Upper Iowa University with a business degree. He married Sherri Zillman on August 5, 1989 and worked for ING and most recently, Sammons Annuity Group in the financial services industry.

Scott was a HUGE family man. He was a dedicated husband and father; his wife and children were the light of his life. His happiest times were with family. Together they enjoyed traveling, cruises, and working in the yard. They were all avid football fans (with their own team favorites) Scott’s being the Minnesota Vikings. Scott also enjoyed golfing and coaching (baseball, soccer, and basketball). He was past president of West Parks Foundation, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Simpson, a prior member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Grimes First Presbyterian, and a current member of Lutheran Church of Hope.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sherri; children, Ashley and Drew; his parents, Bill and Marcia Buising; sister, Sue Buising; brother, Jeff Buising; parents-in-law, Dean and Carolyn Zillman; sister-in-law, Kelly (Don) Newton; nieces, Chloe Buising and Abbey Newton; nephew, Seth Newton; and numerous other extended family members and close friends.
