Fredrick Nutt

Fredrick C. Nutt, Sr., 68, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Taylor House Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Fred was born March 7, 1939 in Des Moines to Elroy and Iva Alice Nutt. Fred loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, singing and playing guitars with his family and friends. Fred owned and operated Nutt Appliance at E. 9th & Hull until he retired.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet; son, Timmy (Mary) of Des Moines, daughter, Tammy (Mike) Phillips of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters, Delilah (Don) Richardson of Austin, Texas, Sally (Joe) Soloman and Sylvia Kimble, both of Des Moines; brothers, Clarence (Carol) of Austin, Texas and Dane (Karen) of Des Moines; and many loving nieces and nephews and a loving sister-in-law, Joyce (Rick) Butler of Chariton. He was preceded in death by his son, Fredrick C. Jr.; his parents and a brother, Howard Leroy.
